Jamaica-born actress Shauna Chin served a cease and desist order to Gully Bop's ex fiance Laniece Shauna Anderson for using the name "Shauna Chin". The actress has since come under heavy scrutiny on social media by Shauna Chin's fans who were saying that she was being envious of chins success using the name.

Tanesha Parkins, a 27-year-old mother of two, was caught attempting to leave Jamaica with over two pounds of ganja inside her anus and stomach. On January 21, Parkins arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport to board a flight to Curacao when police observed a bulge in her crotch area. At least three people were killed and two injured in a shooting as hundreds gathered for the Jamaica Labour Party political rally in Monetego Bay, Jamaica, Sunday night. The gunfire rang out as former Jamaican prime minister and current JLP leader Andrew Holness was finishing a nearly hour long speech in Sam Sharpe Square.

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller helped to cut the ribbon at the Angels Toll Plaza to officially open the section of the North-South Highway from Angels, just outside Spanish Town, to Linstead in St. Catherine, to join the leg opened last year which now ends in Moneague. The recently built roadway will be open to the public for travel as of Monday February 8, 2016. Travel on the newly opened section will be free of cost for one month.

As part of the agreement for the US$720 million highway development, the government has made 1,200 acres of land available...

Dover police officer Thomas Webster IV was acquitted of felony assault and misdemeanor assault charges today after kicking Lateef Dickerson, in the head so hard that it broke his jaw during a 2013 arrest.

Webster testified he didn't intend to kick Lateef Dickerson in the head in August 2013 and instead was aiming for his upper body. Webster also said he feared for the safety of himself and others because officers were told Dickerson was armed with a gun, and Dickerson was slow to comply with repeated commands to get on the ground.

The former lieutenant of Tivoli Gardens don Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke, Harry McLeod, was yesterday acquitted of several criminal charges as the prosecution was unable to sustain a case against him.

Harry "Harry Dog" McLeod was acquitted of charges of larceny, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and forgery when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court in Jamaica. He was acquitted after the prosecution said it was unable to move forward with a case against him, prompting the court to order the return of his vehicle.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in consultation with the Department of State, have added five Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries among others worldwide that are eligible to participate in visa programs.

The USCIS announced on Friday that Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Haiti, and Jamaica are now eligible to participate in the H-2A and H-2B Visa programs, effective January 18, 2016. Sixty-eight countries globally are eligible to participate in the visa program on that effective date...

Belgian interior minister, Jan Jambon announced he wants a house-to-house search of every address in Molenbeek to see who is living there, noting that some addresses with two registered inhabitants have 10 people there.

The Brussels district of Molenbeek was the focus of police raids last week after the Paris attacks, and Mr Jambon said that out of 130 jihadists known to have returned from Syria, 85 are in the tiny commune of Molenbeek.

Bank of Jamaica Governor Brian Wynter says the Jamaican dollar is no longer overvalued and is now less susceptible to unpredictable slippage, following recommendations by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for its continued devaluation to maintain competitiveness.

Christopher Selby, 30, a prison escapee from Trinidad and Tobago, surrendered to authorities on Sunday night. He is currently being held at Barataria Police Station in Barataria, Trinidad.

(AP) Police in Jamaica say a U.S. tourist has been charged with illegal possession of ammunition after customs officials at an island airport allegedly found a bullet in her handbag.

A Monday police statement says the American woman was about to board a flight when she was stopped by security at Sangster International Airport in the northern tourist town of Montego Bay.

Wayne Price was a member Bounty Killer’s entourage traveling to St Kitts for a concert. The group was about to board a flight back to Jamaica on Sunday when the artiste brother was being checked out by a custom agent, who left her phone on the counter.
