Reggae singer Siccaturie 'Jah Cure' Alcock and Kamila McDonald, co-host of CVM TV's On Stage and university student, became man and wife at the luxurious Tryall Club Sandy Bay Hanover on Sunday. Jah Cure says he sees himself in the light of a role model for not just entertainers, but for real men who believe in showing their women how special they are. Ninja Man who has been locked up since March was recently accompanied by his son Janile Ballentine who has also been charged for the death of 20-year-old Ricardo Johnson. Janile Ballentine has been on the run since the incident but was eventually captured in the parish of St. Ann. The members of the Major Investigation Task Force also charged a third man, Clayton Dennis who they believed was also responsible for the young man's death. The older brother of Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller was held up, beaten and stabbed at his business early Thursday morning, May 2 2013. Vincent Simpson, who is 71 years old, is the managing director of Simpson's Dollar Saver clothing and dry goods store in the heart of volatile downtown Kingston. He was attacked shortly after he showed up to open the store around 4 a.m. Police stated that the robbers took about J$30,000 (US$310), a television set, a pistol and other items from Simpson. Vincent Simpson was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok. No suspects have been identified by the police.
PRIME Minister Bruce Golding was adamant yesterday that his Government would in no way bow to pressure from individual organisations, individuals, foreign governments or groups of countries to give a free rein to buggery. The department's Special Enforcement Team, with the assistance of the police, and as part of their ongoing operations to clamp down on delinquent taxpayers, carried out the raid at O’Neil " Elephant Man" Bryan house in 3 Hillcrest Avenue, off Hope Road. Kingston. Earlier, the tax department started its operation in Haven Dale St Andrew at a house owned by Elephant Man but investigators said they found nothing of value. The tax officials along with the police then went to the Hillcrest Avenue house belonging to Elephant Man where the motorcar was seized. The Tax Department, however, declined to confirm how much money was owed by Elephant Man, but said assets are seized when individuals are 'chronically delinquent' in tax payments.
Haiti is angry over the treatment of their children from their young soccer team by Jamaica authorities after two players became ill. The Under-17 soccer squad was forced to withdraw from the competition after Jamaican authorities were pressured to send them home because several members became ill with a fever that was later determined to be malaria. The Haitian team was told that everyone would have to undergo testing. The team members were later placed in quarantine with armed guards. Wayne Price was a member Bounty Killer’s entourage traveling to St Kitts for a concert. The group was about to board a flight back to Jamaica on Sunday when the artiste brother was being checked out by a custom agent, who left her phone on the counter. Justice Bruce Durno sentenced Garfield Anthony Sibblies, 40, of Brampton, yesterday.
