(AP) Jamaican police say four men have been killed and four seriously wounded in a gang-related fusillade in a gritty city just outside of the island's capital. Investigators say gunmen opened fire late Saturday on a group of men playing cards at a house in Spanish Town, a southern Jamaican city where violent gangs are deeply entrenched. In a Sunday statement, police investigators link the deadly attack to a feud between the Clansman and One Order gangs, which are battling for control of extortion and drug rings. Gang-related massacres have been rare in recent months in Jamaica, where an anti-gang crackdown has been the toughest in the island's history.

A deadly 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Chile early Saturday, collapsing buildings, shattering major bridges and highways across a long strip of the country, and sending tsunami warnings along the Pacific basin. The Associated Press quoted Mrs. Bachelet as saying that a huge wave had swept into a populated area in Robinson Crusoe Island, 410 miles off the Chilean coast, but there were no immediate reports of major damage there. Those reports bore out early fears that a major tsunami was on its way across the Pacific, and the first hemispherewide tsunami warning since 1964 was issued all along the basin, according to monitors in Hawaii. In a wave of inspiration one afternoon, company chairman Danny Melville decided to form the Jamaica Dogsled Team. Danny chose Newton to work with the sled-pulling dogs as he was the one handling them on a regular basis. Newton soon proved to be a natural...
