Morgan Heritage Set To Perform At Wallstreet

Morgan Heritage is scheduled to perform at the New York Stock Exchange's 94th annual tree lighting ceremony on November 30.

The occasion, which opened to the public, is slated to start at 2:30 pm. The reggae band, however, is earmarked to perform at 5:35 pm.

The rock band Hollis Brown, country star Jackie Lee, singers Karen Rodriguez and Jesse Campbell, the Harlem Globetrotters, and the Radio City Rockettes are also billed to perform.

Oswald Caines, a reggae music legend well-known in Sarasota, Florida, died Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down the William Howard Frankland Bridge connecting St. Petersburg to Tampa. The accident froze early-morning rush-hour traffic in the central Bay area for hours.

The 61-year-old Caines, affectionately known by his friends as “Ham,” was scheduled to play a show with his band, the Democracy Reggae Band, at the Five O’clock Club in Sarasota on Thursday night.

On Tuesday the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s information arm, revealed that Alkaline was being sought for questioning in regards to the murder of Rohan Morris and has asked him to report to Area Four HQ at Harman Barracks.

Rohan Morris, a 28 year old, was murdered at his home in Maverley, St Andrew, on January 13, 2017.

The governing body the International Olympic Committee (IOC) disqualified Jamaica's 2008 Beijing 4x100m sprint team today. Re-analysis of Carter's samples from Beijing resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine.

Natty King took to Facebook accusing a Kenyan music promoter of being unprofessional. Natty King performed in Buruburu on his first show before heading to Meru for another show. But the Meru show was cancelled.

Natty King alleges that Chini Ya Mti promoters refused to pay him, hence the reason for the no-show in Meru. At least four company names were found in the database of Panama Papers are identified as having links to Jamaica.

A search for 'Jamaica' in the database turned up the names Ciamara Holdings, Direct Transportation and Group Logistics, Kanton Star, and Global Equity Finance, though there is no suggestion any of these entities have done anything wrong.

The United Soccer League has suspended Jamaican forward Romeo Parkes for the remainder of the 2016 season and fined him an undisclosed amount for attacking Canadian international defender Karl Ouimette in a game Saturday.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds had already terminated Parkes’ contract. Hotel Collapse in Westmorland Jamaica

Several construction workers were taken to hospital this morning after a section of a building under construction at the former Grand Lido hotel in Negril collapsed around 6 a.m on Tuesday. Three workers were trapped under the rubble of the two-storey building that was being constructed.

One worker who was trapped under the rubble had been rescued by late morning while firefighters worked feverishly to free at least two others. The status of the two remaining working is unknown at this time.
