5.8 Earthquake Shakes The East Coast

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered northwest of Richmond, Va., shook much of Washington, D.C., and was felt as far north as Rhode Island and New York City.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was 3.7 miles deep. Shaking was felt at the White House and all over the East Coast, as far south as Chapel Hill, N.C. Parts of the Pentagon, White House and Capitol were evacuated. The quake was in Mineral, Va., in Louisa County.

VP Record's Joel Chin Murdered

VP Records founders Pat and Vincent Chin is in mourning, following the murder of their grandson Joel Chin.

The 35-year-old producer, who also headed up VP’s A&R department, was reportedly shot and killed as he drove up into his apartment in Stony Hill, St Andrew, Jamaica Tuesday August 16. According to reports, Chin died instantly in his driveway.

(AP) A Philadelphia man was gunned down hours after a judge upheld felony charges against his ex-girlfriend, who was accused of offering $1,000 on Facebook for someone to kill him. But with the teenager who allegedly took the bait already in custody, investigators said Tuesday they aren’t sure why the man was killed.

(AP)Jamaican police have arrested three suspects in connection with the grisly slayings of a mother and daughter whose be headings during a home invasion last month renewed a sense of fear and outrage among crime-weary Jamaicans.

T-Pain is suing Antares, the company that creates the Auto-Tune effect. Teddy P — who’s now partnering with Izotope to create something called the “T-Pain effect” says Antares is still using his image and likeness to promote its products.
