It appears that the Internal Revenue Service is after Rapper Doug E. Fresh for unpaid taxes. According to a lien filed by the IRS in New York City, Doug E. Fresh failed to pay $2,276,848 dollars in federal taxes. However, this is not the first time Fresh has had to deal with delinquent taxes owed to the IRS. Back in 2008, he owed $367,000 dollars in unpaid federal and state taxes. Despite his problem with the IRS, Fresh seems to be doing okay financially business-wise. He has opened a new restaurant named Doug E’s Chicken and Waffles in Harlem, New York and has a club called Fresh. Miguel Sizzla Collins remains hospitalized in the Corporate Area hospital after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in St Ann, Jamaica on Wednesday August 24, 2011. Sizzla is recovering well after suffering serious injuries including a broken arms, broken ribs, a fractured collar bone and ruptured liver which caused extensive internal bleeding. The artiste's family has deliberately not named the hospital as they seek a level of privacy in order for Sizzla to fully recover. The family however, continues to thank Sizzla fans at home and abroad for their continued support for him.
ONeil Elephant Man Bryan is scheduled to return Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on November 30 for the start of his trial on a charge of stealing electricity. Elephant Man trail was expected to begin on Tuesday, however a new trial date was set after Elephant Man's attorney Linda Wright, inform the court that she thought the case was only scheduled for mention. The entertainer was arrested at his home on Hillcrest Avenue in Kingston on June 2, after it was allegedly discovered that he was using stolen electricity.

Deejay Black Rhyno, yesterday confirmed reports that he has severed ties with the Vybz Kartel-led Portmore Empire. The deejay, whose real name is Romane Anderson, is most known for his track Bike Back on Russian's Strip Club Riddim, and is said to be one of the Empire's biggest money makers, outside of the self-proclaimed Gaza president, Kartel. However, Rhyno has dismissed reports that his split with the Empire has anything to do with money. "I know it has been said that there has been some money issues with me and the Empire, but I want to state clearly that it has absolutely nothing to do with money," the deejay said. Jah Cure has been axed from this year's Music of Black Origin ( MOBO ) awards nominations. The 2011 MOBO Awards will be held on October 5 , 2011 at the SECC Glasgow in the UK. Oswald Caines, a reggae music legend well-known in Sarasota, Florida, died Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down the William Howard Frankland Bridge connecting St. Petersburg to Tampa. The accident froze early-morning rush-hour traffic in the central Bay area for hours. The 61-year-old Caines, affectionately known by his friends as “Ham,” was scheduled to play a show with his band, the Democracy Reggae Band, at the Five O’clock Club in Sarasota on Thursday night. Friends and family, shocked by the fatherly musician’s sudden death, took to social media to offer their condolences.

Beenie Man's 'Sizzle' concert, originally set for August 5, will now be held on Saturday, August 22. And that was not the only major change for the deejay's celebratory concert for 30 years in music announced at Pure Plush, New Kingston, on Wednesday night. Sizzle will be held inside the National Stadium and not in the car park as was originally planned. Sources in Jamaica have named the banned substance that five Jamaican athletes tested positive for at the national trials last month as methylxanthine, a decongestant. If taken as a performance-enhancing drug it could assist in getting oxygen into the lungs. Methylxanthine is often found in cough medicine and can be bought without a prescription over the pharmacy counter, adding to the potential confusion for athletes. A type of bronchodilator, it is commonly used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. IT has not been a good year for Jamaican pop music. Sales tracker, SoundScan, reports that music buyers in the United States showed little interest in what Jamaican artistes had to offer in 2009. SoundScan has released sales figures to the end of October. It said, collectively, reggae/dancehall music sold just 502,171 units for the first 10 months of the year. On the Billboard reggae charts, Bob Marley’s best selling set, B is for Bob which moved 35,760 copies after 20 weeks. Titles such as Reggae Gold 2008 continued its good showing, selling 40,096 after 73 weeks, while its followup, Reggae Gold 2009 sold 18,949 after 20 weeks. Singer Terry Linen, real name Kiplin Simpson, was involved in a motor-vehicle accident on Sunday in which one person died. Police say Linen, 33, was driving along the Cheapside main road in Junction, St Elizabeth, in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma which collided with a 2006 unregistered motorcycle ridden by businessman Ainsworth Smikle, 26, from Junction. Constabulary Communication Network liasion officer for St Elizabeth, Constable Karole Panton, said Smikle was among a group of five cyclists riding along the road, but he failed to properly negotiate a left-hand corner and collided with the left front section of the Tacoma. Lawyers for Buju Banton claim that the government set up Buju Banton, by using a paid informant. According to court documents filed on Tuesday January 26, 2010 Buju Banton’s defense attorneys David Markus Marc and David Seitles claimed that the government entrapped the singer, because the informant pressured Buju to purchase the cocaine.
