Legendary reggae DJ and radio personality David Rodigan continues to pave a global path for reggae music when he begins a new series of programming for BBC Radio 2, this week. Invited by the largest radio station in the United Kingdom, which boasts an international audience of 13 million listeners, Rodigan will host a 10-part special summer session, spinning reggae music on Thursday nights from 11pm to midnight on BBC Radio 2, beginning on July 14, 2011. I-Octane’s busy summer continues as the artiste once again prepares to leave the island to travel the world with his music. This time he journeys to England where he will have two shows, one in Birmingham on Friday, May 20th and then again on Sunday, May 22nd in London. Morgan Heritage is scheduled to perform at the New York Stock Exchange's 94th annual tree lighting ceremony on November 30. The occasion, which opened to the public, is slated to start at 2:30 pm. The reggae band, however, is earmarked to perform at 5:35 pm. The rock band Hollis Brown, country star Jackie Lee, singers Karen Rodriguez and Jesse Campbell, the Harlem Globetrotters, and the Radio City Rockettes are also billed to perform.

Whether you were lucky enough like me to attend all three nights or only one night I'm sure that your annual Reggae Sumfest experience was a great one and I am also sure that every one of this year's lucky patrons are already booked, hotel-ed and ready to return to the beautiful island of Jamaica next year. Mavado had to cancel this year's staging of his annual birthday bash of the LIME Real McKoy event that was scheduled for last night.
