A jury found Desire "Dizzy Dee" Sibanda, 24, guilty of raping his friend's girlfriend as she lay sleeping after a night of heavy drinking in a Melbourne Australia flat in November 2008. She awoke to find him raping her.
The court heard Sibanda was thought of as one of the most talented reggae singers in Australia, but will now miss many musical opportunities through incarceration.
He will serve a non-parole period of three-and-a-half years.
