Church was a very nice experience", says dancehall giant Bounty Killer.About three weeks ago, the veteranartiste, born Rodney Price,

went to christen his son at the Reverend AlMiller's Fellowship Tabernacle, located off the Washington Boulevard in St Andrew.

What should have been a routine ceremony quickly turned out tobe an inspiring venture for the veteran deejay, who is currently enjoying one of his best runs of form in music since he began in 1992.

Deejay David 'Mavado' Brooks is calling for the end of the Gully/Gaza war by inviting musical rival Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer to make peace at his birthday bash on Saturday, December 5.

IT has not been a good year for Jamaican pop music. Sales tracker, SoundScan, reports that music buyers in the United States showed little interest in what Jamaican artistes had to offer in 2009.

SoundScan has released sales figures to the end of October. It said, collectively, reggae/dancehall music sold just 502,171 units for the first 10 months of the year.

Following headlines over the weekend that gay lobby groups in New Zealand were presuring the promoters of music festival, Big Day Out, to pull Beenie Man from the line-up, and subsequent defence of their decision to use him as the only reggae act, the promoters have now backpedalled and have yanked the deejay from the concert.
