Buju Banton was offered bail at $250,000 at his court hearing today, Thursday, October 14, 2010.
However, his lawyer David Oscar Markus must now seek bond in immigration court in order to prevent Banton’s deportation to Jamaica, as his visa was revoked when he was arrested on December 10, 2009.
Bail conditions require Banton to wear an electronic monitoring device; he will also be subject to drug-testing, partial house arrest and 24-hour security; he may leave his house only for meetings with his attorney, to see his doctor, or to attend court.
