Dancehall artiste Bridgett "Bridgez" Roache has decided to cut all ties with the Bounty Killer Alliance camp.

Earlier last year Bridgez had announced that she was leaving 'Alliance Next Generation' however her former manager Bounty Killer took to his twitter at the time to make it clear that the young singer was still a part of the Alliance camp itself; later giving her the title of 'Lady Alliance.'

Beres Hammond was due to perform at the popular venue in Greenwich alongside fellow reggae stars Morgan Heritage and Marcia Griffiths as part of the Beres and Friends UK tour. Beres Hammond failed to show up for the concert in east London's IndigO2 on Wednesday July 17, 2013 after one of his band member was denied entry into the UK.

Mikey Jarrett Jr., the road manager for Reggae artiste Junior Reid ,died on Tuesday June 04, 2013 from an apperent heart attack while in Miami, Florida.

Jarrett was a part of the One Blood family for over fifteen years and was instrumental in the professional advancement of the careers of Junior Reid and his sons Andrew & Wadada Blood.

Inner Circle Tour Bus Crashes in Louisiana

A bus carrying the members of reggae group Inner Circle crashed in Louisiana on Tuesday Jun 04, 2013. The accident happened on I-10 at around 3:30 p.m.

The band was reportedly on the bus at the time of the accident, however there were no major injuries resulting from the crash. Local police reports suggest a blown tyre sent the tourbus careering into the median of the Interstate 10 freeway just outside Baton Rouge.

Toots Hibbert of the legendary reggae band Toots and the Maytals is suing his former manager for US$1.25 million dollars.

The 70-year-old Toots Hibbert claims that he hired Marc-Antoine Chetata back in 1994 to manage Toots and the Maytals’ music and business affairs. Hibbert claims Chetata took advantage of the group lack of business knowledge.

Mexico got its first victory in CONCACAF's final round of World Cup qualifying Tuesday night, beating Jamaica 1-0 on Aldo de Nigris' goal. The Mexicans team had drawn all three previous games, but the win lifted them atop the six-team group while having played one more game than four other teams, including the United States.

(AP) Cedric Brooks, a Jamaican saxophone player and influential roots reggae musician, has died. He was 70.

One of Brooks' sisters, Paulette Keise, said he died Friday of cardiac arrest at New York Hospital Queens. She said Saturday that he suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes and fell ill several years ago, losing his ability to speak.

Brooks began his music career in the late 1960s as a studio musician, playing in songs such as Burning Spear's "Door Peep." He also had hits with trumpet player David Madden including "Money Maker" and "Mystic Mood."...

Suspect Arrested In Vincent Simpson Attack

Jamaica's police force arrested a suspect on Monday in the beating, stabbing and robbery of Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller's older brother Vincent Simpson.

Andre Foreman, 21, of Kingston, was arraigned on charges of aggravated robbery, wounding with intent to kill and illegal possession of a firearm. He is due to appear in court on Friday.

The robbers took J$30,000 ($310), a television set, a pistol and other items from Simpson, who remains in a Kingston hospital. Two other men who were suspected to be involved in the attack remain at large.

Police in Jamaica have detained two teenage girls in the death of a 39-year-old man as they investigate accusations that he tried to rape one of them.

Police said Friday that Phillip Bell lured the two girls, ages 16 and 14, to his house to use his computer on Thursday afternoon. Police said Bell apparently tried to rape one of the girls, prompting the other girl to attack him with a machete.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died. No one has been charged for his death.

Lauryn Hill Sentenced To Prison On Tax Evasion Charges

Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to three months in prison for failing to pay about $1 million in taxes. Hill pleaded guilty last year to three counts of failing to file tax returns on more than $1.8 million between 2005 and 2007.

Before the sentencing, her attorney had said Hill had paid more than $970,000 to satisfy the state and federal tax liabilities. Hill had faced a maximum sentence of one year each on three counts. Her attorney had sought probation.
