Adidja "Vybz Kartel" Palmer is spending the weekend in jail following his arrest on a drug charge at a hotel in New Kingston yesterday by police who also say they are investigating the discovery of a body at a St Andrew house that he frequents. According to police, the house in Havendale was gutted by fire two weeks ago.
Vybz Kartel, and three other persons were arrested and charged with possession of ganja. Following the arrest, Kartel was transported to several houses, one of which is in Havendale and which the police believe he visits frequently. The police searched the properties.
Attorney Christian Tavares-Finson, who represents Vybz Kartel, yesterday said his client was informed of his rights and told to co-operate with the police, who are expected to begin questioning him on Monday.
