Mavado's manager Julian Jones-Griffith released a statement on twitter.

"Mavado is no longer signed to VP Records, the deal has been officially
terminated. We are currently exploring the many options before us"

It was implied that it was Mavado choice to Leave VP Records. Lots of
artists have said that VP Records did not treat their artists properly and
would over charge for everything.

Mavado signed to VP Records late 2006 for a three-album deal. Thus far,
Mavado has provided two of the albums: Gangsta For Life: The Symphony
of David Brooks in 2007 and Mr Brooks: A Better Tomorrow March 2009.

VP Records has decided to clear the air with a release stating that they
decided to pull out of the three album deal contract with the artiste.

"VP Records can confirm that it released Mavado from his recording
agreement. Contrary to reports which have been circulated, however,
it was VP that elected, in its sole discretion, not to exercise its option
for a further album."
