Michael Jackson was pronounced dead this afternoon.The pop star arrived at a hospital in a deep coma.Jackson was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after he suffered a heart attack. Lincoln “Sugar” Minott is undoubtedly one of the elders of Jamaican popular music. A veteran of 30 years, Sugar is a significant figure in the formation of the music in the post ska/rocksteady and reggae eras. The International Artiste Night show will not be staged this Dominica Festivals carnival season due to financial limitations. Dominica Festivals Committee (DFC) Events Director Val Cuffy said too much expenses are incurred to organize that event. The first International Artiste Night was held in 2008 with Jamaican dancehall artiste Mr. Vegas as the headline act. Authorities say rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant as he left a restaurant near Universal Studios outside Los Angeles. The charges against singer Chris Brown and his bodyguard stemming from a weekend fight were reduced to simple assault misdemeanors Monday. The two men, who had spent the previous 36 hours in a Washington jail, entered a packed courtroom in leg irons and handcuffs, but at the end they were unshackled and released without bail Monday afternoon. Brown, 24, was ordered to report to his California probation officer within 48 hours and to stay at least 100 yards away from the man he is accused of assaulting early Sunday.
