The public is invited to enjoy a free reggae concert Friday, June 29 at the Downtown Commons in Clarksville Tennessee. Grammy-winning reggae artist Gramps Morgan will perform at 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by Justin Kanew, who is running for Tennessee’s 7th District House seat now held by Republican Marsha Blackburn. The Downtown Commons are located at 215 Legion Street in downtown Clarksville.

Tri-Star Promotions, collaborating with other promoters are producing the concert featuring American rapper Nas and reggae artistes Damien “Junior Gong” Marley and Jah Cure. Jimmy Cliff and the British singer-songwriter Paloma Faith are among 22 acts lined up for the third Abu Dhabi Womad music festival next week in the United Arab Emeriates. The festival, organised by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, will take place at the Abu Dhabi Corniche on April 7-9 2011 and at Al Jahili Fort on April 7-8 2011. The Original Wailers, featuring Al Anderson and Junior Marvin, will perform at Universal CityWalk during its reggae celebration Saturday, May 15. Saturday’s celebration will be within the CityWalk venue called Bob Marley’s – A Tribute to Freedom and will run from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. The day will include live music and authentic Jamaican food.
