On Monday, November 10, 2025, a small turboprop aircraft crashed shortly after take-off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (Florida) while en route to Jamaica carrying hurricane relief supplies. The aircraft was identified as a Beechcraft King Air B100 (twin-engine turboprop) that crashed into a pond/lake in a residential area of Coral Springs, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, shortly after departure.
Tragically, both people on board — the pilot, Alexander Wurm (53), and his daughter, Serena Wurm (22) — were killed in the crash.
They were part of a humanitarian mission delivering supplies for relief efforts in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa (which struck Jamaica October 28) and were flying with relief goods (water filters, medical supplies, roof-repair materials, etc.) to support disaster-hit communities
