Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer will remain behind bars for the foreseeable future after his bail application was postponed.
Kartel appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court on Friday October 14. 2011 to answer charges of murder, conspiracy to murder & illegal possession of a firearm in relation to the shooting death of a St. Catherine businessman/promoter.
It was the second hearing in three days for Kartel and his legal team after he was remanded at his initial hearing regarding the matter on Wednesday October 12, 2011. He was remanded into custody after his lawyers, Tom and Chris Tavares-Finson along with Michael Deans were forced to defer the application due to the absence of a witness statement.
Kartel was ordered back to court on October 26th where he’ll once again face the allegations made in the murder case. Kartel’s legal team is expected to re-apply for bail at that time.
