The Embassy reports increased shootings and gang activity in the Mountain View and Rockfort areas of East Kingston. The Embassy strongly advises American Citizens to currently avoid these areas, especially during the night. Additionally, the Embassy encourages travelers to Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport to avoid using Mountain View Avenue and use the alternate route to the airport via South Camp Road. As always, review your personal security plans: remain aware of your surroundings, including local events; and monitor local news stations for updates. Maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security and follow instructions of local authorities.
