Love Again by Donna Millicent Mullings
I told him that I could never love again
For my heart had fallen too low
The memories that are flooding my mind
Makes hatred in me grow
He tried to make me understand
That broken hearts can be mended
He tried to be very nice
But in my heart I could only hear
"Yes, one day you'll pay the price"
I tried to make him understand
That love for me seemed dead
I tried to make him realise
I tried to make him see
That all he had to say means nothing much to me
Before he walked away he said,
"I hope you'll realise that there are many men on earth and all are not the same"
But deep inside my heart I knew
That he must pay the price
And then when I'm content and free
I'll think of love again
I told him that I could never love again
For my heart had fallen too low
The memories that are flooding my mind
Makes hatred in me grow
He tried to make me understand
That broken hearts can be mended
He tried to be very nice
But in my heart I could only hear
"Yes, one day you'll pay the price"
I tried to make him understand
That love for me seemed dead
I tried to make him realise
I tried to make him see
That all he had to say means nothing much to me
Before he walked away he said,
"I hope you'll realise that there are many men on earth and all are not the same"
But deep inside my heart I knew
That he must pay the price
And then when I'm content and free
I'll think of love again
