A 26-year-old handyman has been found guilty of manslaughter in the March 2006 killing of a Jamaican trade official, whose naked body was discovered in his town house in an upscale Kingston development.

Sheldon Pusey had testified that he stabbed the chairman of Jamaica's Trade Board, Peter King, in self defense after he spurned the 63-year-old official's aggressive sexual advances.

A jury returned the verdict on Monday.

At the time of his death, King was special adviser to the Ministry of Commerce and chairman of the Trade Board, which monitors and certifies goods exported and imported into Jamaica.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 1.
