China’s Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company (JISCO) announced last week plans to invest US$3 billion in constructing an alumina refinery and aluminium smelter adjacent to the Alpart alumina refinery in Nain, St. Elizabeth, a facility also operated by Jisco. Charlie, 74, and Gayle Anderson, 71, were found dead in Mount Pleasant on Friday - with police saying they believe the couple were murdered. The pair, who had been married for 55 years, had retired to the district of Portland on the Caribbean island after living in Manchester. A man has been arrested in connection with the deaths of a retired British couple in Jamaica, police have said. Charlie and Gayle Anderson, aged 74 and 71, were found dead in their home in Portland on Saturday, having moved to the country from Manchester.

A 22-year-old Jamaican man has been sentenced to six years by a Supreme Court judge after he admitted smuggling US$200,000 worth of cocaine into Bermuda. Dwayne George Watson, from the community of Mavis Bank on the outskirts of the Corporate Area in Jamaica, was caught at the L F Wade International Airport after flying to Bermuda from Jamaica via New York. It's reported that customs officers noticed he shook while he answered questions and that the zipper of the suitcase had been shut with zip-ties. Customs officers then drilled into the handle and found white powder inside. A further search revealed 11 packages of cocaine and cocaine freebase, also known as crack, hidden in the case's base, handle and corners.

Sergeant Neville Bryan died after he was attacked by gunmen at a gas station in Portmore, St Catherine, early Friday morning. Bryan, who served for 20 years in the force, was shot repeatedly while he sat in his motorcar.

But the Meru show was cancelled. Natty King alleges that Chini Ya Mti promoters refused to pay him, hence the reason for the no-show in Meru. Chini Ya Mti Promotions CEO Juma, stated he upheld his side of the contract signed with the reggae singer. Juma stated that upon arrival in Meru, Natty King demanded an additional 30% on top of the agreed performance fees. At least four company names were found in the database of Panama Papers are identified as having links to Jamaica. A search for 'Jamaica' in the database turned up the names Ciamara Holdings, Direct Transportation and Group Logistics, Kanton Star, and Global Equity Finance, though there is no suggestion any of these entities have done anything wrong. The Panama Papers are leaked documents about offshore companies. The United Soccer League has suspended Jamaican forward Romeo Parkes for the remainder of the 2016 season and fined him an undisclosed amount for attacking Canadian international defender Karl Ouimette in a game Saturday. The Pittsburgh Riverhounds had already terminated Parkes’ contract. Several construction workers were taken to hospital this morning after a section of a building under construction at the former Grand Lido hotel in Negril collapsed around 6 a.m on Tuesday. Three workers were trapped under the rubble of the two-storey building that was being constructed. One worker who was trapped under the rubble had been rescued by late morning while firefighters worked feverishly to free at least two others. The status of the two remaining working is unknown at this time.

The actress has since come under heavy scrutiny on social media by Shauna Chin's fans who were saying that she was being envious of chins success using the name. The Actress have since stated that she had no intentions of seeking any publicity from the matter, but instead made a wise business decision to protect her brand.
