The brothers are accused of taking $50,000 from an upcoming artiste, under the guise that they were able to give him the opportunity to travel to the United States of America to perform. It is alleged, however, that they failed to deliver on their promise and subsequently refused to return the complainant's money. Studio engineer Freckles said that it was more than 10 years of pent-up frustration that caused him to attack and beat Rastafarian singer Luciano with a piece of metal pipe last week. Friday at a gas station on Dunrobin Avenue, St Andrew, producer, songwriter and booking agent Freckles took a piece of iron and repeatedly beat singer Luciano, whose real name is Jepther McClymont, in retaliation for what he claims was an incident that took place in August 1998. Dancehall artiste Rodney Pryce popularly known as "Bounti Killa" is scheduled to stand trial in the Traffic Court on Tuesday. In February, Bounti Killa appeared in court on several counts of reckless driving and other traffic violations, including refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test. The artiste is accused of running seven traffic lights in an incident in Half Way Tree late last year. The police reported that on December 29, 2008, Bounti Killa and members of his entourage left a dance on Hillview Avenue off Eastwood Park Road about 3am and ran a red light. Nas and Kelis have officially ended their marriage after a lawyer for the female singer filed divorce papers. The couple first met in 2002 at a post Video Music Awards party being thrown by P Diddy and they eventually married in 2005. A spokeswoman for Kelis confirmed the news, saying; "I can confirm that she has filed for divorce. We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time." Jamaica (AP) A taxi driver has been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl and then burying her alive after he thought he had strangled her to death, authorities said Wednesday. Garsha Wilson faces charges including rape, abduction, attempted murder and cruelty to a child, Deputy Police Superintendent Herfa Beckford said. Wilson abducted the girl last month at a bus station in the capital, Kingston, then took her to a house in nearby St. Andrew parish where he raped her and choked her until she was unconscious, Beckford said. Condolences to the Dance fraternity and to the family of David Alexander Smith aka Ice. Ice was known for his famous dance "Gully Creepa". According to police reports, the 36-year-old dancer was shot and killed by gunmen at a bar on Newark Avenue in Kingston on Friday morning. Police said that around 7:55 a.m., Ice was at the establishment when men armed with guns entered. The men immediately opened fire, killing Ice on the spot. The police who are investigating reported that the Champagne Mitsubishi Lancer which was driven by Ice was taken by his attackers. Smith, is the second Jamaican dancing icon from the "Black Roses Crew" to be murdered in recent years: the first was Smith's dancing mentor, Gerald "Bogle" Levy.
VP Records founders Pat and Vincent Chin is in mourning, following the murder of their grandson Joel Chin. The 35-year-old producer, who also headed up VP’s A&R department, was reportedly shot and killed as he drove up into his apartment in Stony Hill, St Andrew, Jamaica Tuesday August 16. A 5.8 magnitude earthquake centered northwest of Richmond, Va., shook much of Washington, D.C., and was felt as far north as Rhode Island and New York City. The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was 3.7 miles deep. Shaking was felt at the White House and all over the East Coast, as far south as Chapel Hill, N.C.
