Three high-ranking officials of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have arrived in Jamaica to conduct their audit of the country's anti-doping programs after weeks of criticism following positive tests from several high-profile athletes. They will examine Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) drug testing program, staffing, governance, education program, and current cases of adverse analytical findings against some of the country's athletes. Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer is set to debut a short film series based on his life. He will be shooting 33-part series of half-hour short films; to be unveiled periodically in the upcoming months. Kartel will co-direct the series along with popular music video director, Wayne South whose know for directing the video for Vybz’s popular single Life Sweet in 2008. Vybz Kartel has been detained for a 30 additional days, a week after he turned himself in to the Greater Portmore Police Station. Vybz Kartel's five-day detention order came to an end yesterday Friday July 09, 2010, but was extended a day earlier, on Thursday July 08 2010, when he was served papers informing of his further detention. Due to the extension of his detention, Vybz Kartel will now miss several bookings, both local and overseas, including the annual summer show Reggae Sumfest that is schedule to start on July 17.

Adidja "Vybz Kartel" Palmer is spending the weekend in jail following his arrest on a drug charge at a hotel in New Kingston yesterday by police who also say they are investigating the discovery of a body at a St Andrew house that he frequents. The Barbados Youth Action Program, a Government affiliate under the chairmanship of member of parliament Hamilton Lashley, has scheduled performances of the two Jamaican artistes for a reggae show on March 27, 2010 at the Midway House carpark, Bay Street, The City. The news coming out of the spice isle, Grenada, states that the controversial deejay Adijah Palmer, aka Vybz Kartel has been banned from performing there and a concert scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled.
