QQ, whose real name is Kareem Dawkins, was at the centre of a custody battle between his parents Joseph 'GQ' Dawkins and Jackqueey Banks, in October 2007. During this time, QQ was not allowed to perform because he was a child and would have needed a special work permit to do so. But on March 30 this year, his father was awarded full custody of his now 15-year-old son. At his present age, QQ no longer needs a work permit to perform.

Deejay Buju Banton's Rasta Got Soul debuted on Billboard Reggae charts at number 2 knocking Jah Cure out of that spot but reggae band Easy Star All-Stars remains at number 1.

It is Banton's second highest charting album to date, after Inna Heights which peaked at number 1 in 1997 according to Billboard's chart history. Banton had two other albums which peaked at number 2: Unchained Spirit in 2000 and 'Til Shiloh 1995.

The St Andrew North police said they will be questioning popular singer Gyptian, whose real name Windel Edwards, in connection with the recent alleged assault of a man in Stony Hill.

The police confirmed receiving a report from the injured man, saying he was assaulted after being involved in a squabble about money. The man is said to have had to seek treatment at the Kingston Public Hospital after the incident.

Richard Anthony McTear Jr., 21, was arrested Tuesday, hours after a confrontation at his former girlfriend's apartment in which he snatched the infant, Emanuel Wesley Murray, the Hillsborough County sheriff's office said.

Reggae legend Bob Marley's "One Love" topped a list of Jamaica's 100 best songs over 50 years by a panel of musicians and cultural officials associated with the University of the West Indies.

Ninja Man who has been locked up since March was recently accompanied by his son Janile Ballentine who has also been charged for the death of 20-year-old Ricardo Johnson.

Janile Ballentine has been on the run since the incident but was eventually captured in the parish of St. Ann. The members of the Major Investigation Task Force also charged a third man, Clayton Dennis who they believed was also responsible for the young man's death.

Nas and Kelis have officially ended their marriage after a lawyer for the female singer filed divorce papers.

The couple first met in 2002 at a post Video Music Awards party being thrown by P Diddy and they eventually married in 2005.

Swine flu cancels shows in Belize

At least three shows featuring Jamaican artistes have been cancelled in Belize as a result of the swine flu.

Owner of Synergy Promotions, Omar Vasquez, said he was given orders by Belize's Ministry of Health to cancel two shows he was promoting: Island Madness scheduled for yesterday in San Pedro, Belize, and UB Spring Fling, scheduled for tomorrow.

Both Vasquez's shows had dancehall artiste Vegas as the main act. Morgan Heritage is the other Jamaican act billed for another show called Reggae Bring Back Love, which was scheduled for Saturday in Belize City.

Usain Bolt outran serious injury and possibly death yesterday but wrote off his $15.3-million 2009 BMW M3 Coupe on the Vineyard Toll section of Highway 2000 in St Catherine.

Usain Bolt sustained only minor injuries to the ball of his feet, caused by thorns when leaving the ill-fated car, was released from the Spanish Town Hospital after some three hours of examination by doctors. He shortly after declared himself in "good" health.

Reports are that the two female passengers, who were travelling with Bolt, also escaped major injury.

The news coming out of the spice isle, Grenada, states that the controversial deejay Adijah Palmer, aka Vybz Kartel has been banned from performing there and a concert scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled. And it has nothing to do with any homosexual campaign.
